CCSD trustees meet Thursday

Churchill County Board of School Trustees will hold a regular meeting on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Churchill County Administration Office, Old High School, 690 S. Maine St.

Among the items to be discussed include the following:

For discussion and possible action: Presentation and discussion of the process used to determine whether property is surplus, including (1) process to notify the Board of Trustees of items determined to be surplus, and (2) designation of the Director of Business Services or her designee as the authorized representative of the Board of Trustees to determine the property that is no longer required for public use and to determine its disposal is desirable and in the best interests of the school district.

For discussion and possible action: Presentation, discussion and possible approval of a process to dispose of surplus property consisting of posting notices on the district website and taking electronic bids.

For discussion and possible action: Disposition of E.C. Best and West End portable buildings.

For discussion and possible action: Consider all potential bond projects of Northside Early Learning Center, E.C. Best Elementary School and Numa Elementary School, including possible approval of projects not yet approved, timeline for projects, estimated costs of projects and other related matters.

For possible action: Approve a contract with Van Woert Bigotti Architects of Reno in the amount of $83,000 for design services at Churchill County High School to renovate restrooms in the Minnie Blair Building, Math Building and Vocational Building to meet ADA requirements.

For possible action: Approve a contract with Van Woert Bigotti Architects of Reno in the amount of $110,000.00 for design services at E.C. Best Elementary School to renovate the long building and the library.

For possible action: Approve a contract with Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects of Reno in the amount of $77,450 for design services at Northside Elementary School to abate asbestos and renovate interiors and improve playground surfaces.
