June 24, 1923 - October 10, 2013

Ted H. Romero, 90, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013, of natural causes in Fallon, Nevada. He was born June 24, 1923 in Stonycreek, Pennsylvania to Peter and Katena Romeo.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Brenda M. Romero of Fallon, his daughters, Dawn Kerr and her husband, Tom of Auburn, CA, Sharon Goudswaard and her husband, David of Fallon, Toni Carpenter of Fallon, Diana Mobley and her husband, Ken of Reno, and daughter-in-law, Trudi Romeo of Santa Cruz, CA. His son, Peter Romeo preceded him in death in 2006. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Ted lived a full life and did many things. He was a cowboy, race horse trainer, Radiological Probe Tech at Mercury, Nevada, a mustanger, served occasionally as a Deputy in Beatty, Nevada, a stuntman and riding extra, a saddle maker, and a rancher in Ash Meadows. When he relocated to Fallon, he went to work at KVLV Radio as a radio announcer/disc jockey and did his own Country Caravan Show. He worked there for over 20 years and was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame in Las Vegas in 2007. Ted was also in the Merchant Marines for two years.

He loved dogs, cats and horses, had wonderful stories to tell, and he never met a stranger. He will be truly missed by many friends and family.

Services will be held Friday, October 18, 2013, at 1:00 PM at The Gardens in Fallon. Graveside services to follow at Fallon Cemetery.
