The Fallon soccer teams ran past Dayton on Tuesday, each by a 6-0 score.

In Fallon, the Lady Wave improved to 5-0-0 in the Northern Division I-A thanks to persistent offense and lockdown defense.

Seniors Maddie Alegre and Monica Mills each scored as did Rebecca Mills, Kailey Davis, Megan Warner and Cheyenne Sweeney. Chipping in with assists were Alegre, Rebecca Mills, Megan Maronde, Kayla Biggs and Britney Wallace.

“The girls have been trying to get better each and every time they step on the field,” Fallon coach Kelly Spicer said. “(We) still have things to get better at, and they’re really doing the work to reach those goals.”

The Lady Wave sits atop the standings with 15 points followed by South Tahoe (3-0-1, 10). Dayton, meanwhile, is 0-5-0 and tied with Fernley (0-5-0) for last place.

For the Fallon boys, the Wave were led by another stellar performance from Fidel Enriquez, who netted two goals.

In addition to Enriquez, Tristan Parrott and Pedro Barajas each also tallied two scores. Corbin Waite added two assists and Austin Bischoff had one.

Fallon improves to 3-1-1 for 10 points and is tied for second place with Truckee (3-0-1) and behind South Tahoe (4-1-0, 12).

The boys and girls played South Tahoe on Thursday, but results were not available at press time.

Tennis splits with Truckee

The Fallon girls tennis team notched its second win of the season with an 11-7 victory Tuesday over Truckee in a Northern Division I-A match.

Once again, the No. 1 doubles tandem of Josie Bekaires and Hannah Lindsey swept the competition. The duo went 3-0, only losing a combined seven games.

Not to be outdone, fellow doubles partners — Kali Strong and Jenna Spencer — went 2-1, while No. 1 singles player Becky Conner also went 2-1.

Debra Beyer and Haley Lindsay went nabbed a win for the Lady Wave and the doubles duo of Hannah Perrazo and Sam Price also added a win.

On the boys court, Fallon fell, 12-6, to the Wolverines.

As usual, the doubles teams of Ty Wood and Martin Beyer and Garrett Kalt and Adam Wadsworth were solid. Each team netted a pair of wins.

On the singles side, Christian Stadtman and Dalin Conner each tallied wins for Fallon.

The girls hosted Bishop Manogue on Friday, while the boys played at Manogue. Results were not available at press time.
