Eckankar, Religion of the Light and Sound of God, is holding a free worship service titled Taking the Next Step Spiritually at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Community Center.
The one-hour service includes a brief talk by a facilitator, followed by readings, a small-group discussion and a short contemplation.

Concert, lecture planned at Sierra Place
Sierra Place Senior Living, 1111 W. College Parkway, is hosting two free events this weekend.
Loretta Skinner, a gospel soloist, will perform at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Bob Nylen will talk about women’s role at the Carson City Mint, which operated for 23 years, at 10 a.m. Sunday.
