Mayor Ken Tedford Jr. recently swore in two new police officers for the Fallon Police Department, Kurtis Itskin and Christopher Decker.
Itskin is a native of Fallon and graduated from Churchill County High School in 2007.
“I’ve always wanted to be a police officer,” Itskin said. “It’s something that I’ve wanted to do since I was a little kid. I want to be able to help my community and what better way to do that than to become a police officer.”
Itskin currently is living in Reno but will be moving back to Fallon upon graduating from the academy.
Decker is a native of Reno and graduated from McQueen High School in 2009.
“I’m looking forward to the new opportunity in front of me,” Decker said. “I’ve always wanted to be a police officer, ever since I was little.”
Decker said he is excited to start working. He will be relocating from Carson City.
Itskin and Decker started their 13-week course at the Nevada Law Enforcement Academy in Carson City on Monday. Once the course is completed the duo will return to Fallon to begin their new roles on the force.
