LAS VEGAS — The grandson of former Nevada governor and U.S. Sen. Paul Laxalt will launch his political career by challenging the son of another longtime political family to become Nevada attorney general.
Adam Laxalt plans to kick off his candidacy Tuesday at a Reno Republican Men’s Club luncheon.
A Las Vegas lawyer, the 34-year-old Laxalt is the son of Michelle Laxalt. It was revealed last year that his father is former U.S. Sen. Pete Domenici of New Mexico.
Laxalt will challenge two-term Democratic Secretary of State Ross Miller in the attorney general’s race. The 37-year-old Miller is the son of Bob Miller who served as Nevada governor from 1989 to 1999.
Miller so far reportedly has raised about $900,000 for his campaign.
