Joyce Maycock

Joyce Elaine Maycock, born April 30, 1930 in Huntington Park, CA, entered the Kingdom of Heaven May 28, 2014 at home in Dayton NV surrounded by family. Death was due to complications from diabetes. Joyce was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Allen) Ankenbauer. She moved from La Mirada, CA with husband Jim in 1990 and remained here the rest of her life. She was a loving, compassionate, and spiritual woman who always put her family first. She had cultivated many friendships that began in her childhood, adding many more friends throughout her life. She was a great cook and loved to cook and bake especially for her family. She was happiest when she was surrounded by all her kids and grandkids. She was an avid reader and passed on many of her favorite books to her daughters to read. She worked as a care giver for the terminally ill in CA, and then as a home health aide in NV. She was, mom to her three children, grandson Bill Miller, and great granddaughter Anna Miller. She was predeceased by her husband Jim and grandson Michael. She is survived by children- Lynette (Robert) Board, Keith Maycock, and Marcie (Brian) Russell, and siblings Bill, Leroy and Mary. She also had 7 fantastic grandchildren and 8 terrific great grandchildren. Services were held June 9, 2014 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier CA.
