LAS VEGAS — The Aria casino on the Las Vegas Strip has agreed to pay a $100,000 fine for blocking state agents from watching a high-stakes roulette table.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board posted the proposed settlement online this week. The agreement must be approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
A complaint filed in February said two state agents who had not identified themselves were watching high rollers play roulette when a supervisor told them that the players didn’t want to be watched, and threatened to call security. State law requires all gambling to be open to the public.
The complaint said regulators previously encountered similar issues at MGM properties.
The casino faced a fine of as much as $500,000.
Aria said it educated employees about the law after the complaint was filed.
