The Churchill County School Board met Thursday night at their regularly scheduled meeting where they approved to sell the Churchill County High School construction program student-built house.

Phyllys Dowd, director of Business Services, said the house at 462 Discovery Drive has been appraised for $174,000.

Trustee Richard Gent said he is concerned that the appraiser appraised the house too low, but Trustee Steve Nunn said he has looked at some comparable houses in the neighborhood and felt the house was priced right.

Dowd said the district spent about $120,000 on the property and house so the residence needs to be priced more than that to make a profit on it.

The trustees took no time in deciding the action of each agenda item.

The trustees also approved and discussed the following:

Approved renewal proposal from Nevada Public Agency Insurance Pool and approval for payment from fiscal year 2014-2015 funds.

Approved Workers’ Compensation Insurance coverage from AIG Insurance Company on Workers’ Compensation Insurance, as recommended by the district’s broker, in the amount of $339,377 for fiscal year 2014-15.

Approved action on the 2014 school improvement bond resolution; authorizing the issuance of the Churchill County School District, general obligation school improvement bonds, series 2014, in the aggregate principal amount not to exceed $9,315,000; providing the form of the bonds and for their payment and providing other details in connection therewith.

Approved replacing roofing subcontractor on the E. C. Best Elementary School renovation project.

Approved interfund loan resolution fiscal year 2014, resolution 14-04, and fiscal year 2015, resolution 14-05.
