Anna Chiodo Wehling passed away on June 14, 2014 after a full and happy life of 89 years. Anna was born to Samuel and Teresa Chiodo in Fairmont, West Virginia in 1924 and was graduated from Fairmont High School in 1941. She entered Fairmont State Teachers College in 1942, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class. In 1956, she moved with her family to the Los Angeles area, where she met screenwriter Robert Wehling, whom she married in 1962. They had one child, Fred Lowell Wehling, in 1963 and stayed together until Robert passed away in 1984. The Wehlings moved to Carson City in 1965, where from 1968 until 1989 Anna worked for the Nevada Military Department, serving as Executive Assistant to four Adjutants General of the Nevada National Guard. A devout Catholic throughout her life, Anna was lately a parishioner at Corpus Christi Church in Carson City. An avid amateur actress, she was a founding member of Carson City’s Proscenium Players and a member of the Nevada Opera Guild. She lived well, loved often, and laughed much. Anna is survived by her son Fred and daughter-in-law Amanda Wehling, her brother Sam Chiodo Jr., her nephew Sam Chiodo III and niece Britt Ashley, her step-granddaughters Megan Mendoza and Keri Fastenau and step-great-granddaughter Jemma Mendoza. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21 at 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Carson City. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
