Termed-out Treasurer Kate Marshall filed Wednesday for the secretary of state’s post being vacated by Ross Miller, who also is termed out.

Marshall said she would ensure the accessibility and integrity of Nevada’s voting system and work to help businesses succeed.

In addition, state Sen. Ben Kieckhefer, whose south Reno district also covers Carson City, filed for a second four-year term. Kieckhefer, a Republican, faces a primary challenge from perennial candidate Gary Schmidt, who listed his address as a club he owns on the Mount Rose Highway.

Marshall, a Democrat, faces ex-state Sen. Barbara Cegavske, who filed in Las Vegas earlier this week.
