Phone scammer wants money for missed jury duty

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of scam about missing jury duty. The callers tell potential victims that if they don’t pay a fee immediately, they will be arrested.

Sheriff Ken Furlong said the sheriff’s office will not call for any activity of the courts.

Anyone receiving such a call is asked to inform the sheriff’s office at 775-887-2500.

Residents are advised to not make any payment arrangements with anyone they don’t know.
