Stage Stores recent 30 Days of Giving campaign was held Sept. 12–Oct. 12 and resulted in $571,835 being donated to more than 700 local organizations across the country.

Customers who visited any one of the company’s department stores, which include well known names Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage were invited to donate $1, $3 or $5 to a local group in their community that store associates selected. Thus far in 2014, Stage Stores Community Counts program has raised a total of over $1.4 million in donations.

Bealls has a store in Fallon.

“It means a lot to a small, local non-profit organization to have a partnership with a great company like Bealls,” said Julia Cruz, executive director of Safe Place Inc.

Bealls in Dumas, Texas, selected Safe Place Inc., which exists to improve the quality of life for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing a 24-hour hotline, shelter, and counseling.

“Since Safe Place started in 1988, our goal is to help people get back on their feet. We remain committed to the elimination of violence through public awareness and prevention education,” Cruz said.

Customers and stores associates were also praised for their involvement.

“The success of our 30 Days of Giving campaign wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of both our customers and store associates,” said Michael Glazer, president and CEO of Stage Stores Inc. “I am elated when I think about the positive impact these many organizations have on their local communities and the good that can be done with the money they will receive as a result of this campaign.”
