Feb. 11, 1937 - Oct. 17, 2014

Donna Miller Johnson, 77, longtime Carson City resident, died Friday, October 17, 2014 peacefully with family at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She was diagnosed in late September of 2014 with a stage IV Glioblastoma Tumor in her brain. Donna put up a valiant fight and was strong and caring until the end. She refused to worry about herself as is in her nature and would only be bothered about whether or not she might have passed this disease on to any of her family. Donna Jean Miller was born February 11, 1937, in Paxton, Nebraska., the daughter of Edith Gertrude (Mathers) Miller and Silas S Miller, and sister to the late Genevieve (Miller) Carden. On January 24, 1957 the beloved Donna married Alvin S. Johnson, Jr. of Lovell, Wyoming in South Laguna Beach, CA. They raised two daughters while in California and later moved to Colorado. While in Colorado their eldest daughter gave birth to three grandsons, who Donna and Alvin would later adopt and raise as their own as well. The compassionate couple were granted legal guardianship of the three boys and moved to Carson City, NV, where they endlessly worked hard, and sacrificed to ensure that their newly adopted family would live normal lives and grow up calling their Grandparents, Mother and Father, until their early childhood when they would hereafter call them Nana & Papa. Donna dedicated her entire life to caring for her family. She was an endearing wife and homemaker, loving and passionate mother, and enriched the lives of others even becoming a home health care provider who treated the elderly at their homes as if they were her own family and loved ones. Donna also had a great respect and compassion towards animals as well, and it was very common for her to be seen talking and treating her own pets as if they were just another of her many children she cared for. Survivors include her loving husband Alvin Johnson; her sister Beverly Seldomridge of Rawlins, WY; two daughters, Bunny Roper and Jackie LeClaire of Phoenix, AZ; three sons, Lawrence Alvin Johnson and Brandon Johnson of Carson City, NV and Dustin Johnson of Phoenix; and two granddaughters, Rachel LeClaire of San Diego, CA and Julia LeClaire of Scottsdale, AZ. We will never forget your hard work, endless compassion and Love, and all that you sacrificed for us and the family. We Love You Always & Forever Nana,- Love your boys
