Today the world lost someone special. A man tougher than nails, more hard working and motivated than anyone you could ever meet, a man with a heart of gold (sometimes a bit rough around the edges but that only added character!), a loving father and husband, a Christian, a body builder, a hunter, a man who’d try to help without someone having to ask. He was a man loved by many. A jokester till the end who was always ready to “catch you off guard”. The funniest thing about John was, how funny HE thought he was. John leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Ramona of Dayton and his son Joshua, sisters: Joyce Douglas and Carol Straub, both of Dayton and numerous nieces and nephews. John was the owner of Carson Valley Painting for over 40 years and worked with many contractors, owners and builders. He developed many lasting friendships throughout the years and was always grateful for the opportunity to share his Faith in the Lord and his gift for painting. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4th at 1:00pm at Hilltop Community Church, 3588 Romans Road, Carson City, NV. There will be a gathering immediately following the service at 231 River Road, Dayton, NV. Everyone is welcome to stop by and share in the wonderful memories of our good friend John and celebrate his gift of “humor”.
