We commend the Board of County Commissioners for their street work, in some parts of the city — especially for the improvements which they have caused to be made in the sewage or gutter-age of Telegraph Street, from the Episcopal Church down to Carson Street. In other areas people alongside the gutters are throwing all kinds of refuse from oil cans to dead hens and ham bones. Indeed there is no use in building new culverts and enlarging gutters if they are to be made receptacles of all sorts of rubbish.

To the editor of the Appeal: I notice that there is a notice some days ago for the consolidation of Storey, Ormsby, and Washoe counties to reduce expenses to decrease the burden on taxpayers. Your idea that Carson City should be the county seat as well as State Capitol is a good idea, but have you considered the jobbery at the Legislature that may move the seat to say, Virginia City?

A stirring Indian story in which Princess Mona Darkfeather, the famous Indian actress, portrays one of the most important roles in a two-reeled feature at the theater, “The Redskins and the Renegades.” Also playing is a Hearst Selig News Pictoral and “Bunny’s Swell Affair,” a screamingly funny photoplay with John Bunny and Flora Finch.

The Rambler, by Wes Davis. One governing board only for this area would result in much more flexibility in the matter of improvements, postwar planning, and regulations, generally, besides better directive ability that with two boards (Ormsby County and Carson City).

Phyllis Arlene Wood and Melvin Pursel exchanged marriage vows in the Presbyterian Church here last night.
