Nevada’s Office of Traffic Safety has awarded NHP’s Northern Command a $129,500 federal grant for a series of efforts to reduce fatalities and serious traffic injuries.

The grant under the Joining Forces program is designed to pass funding through to state, county and local law enforcement agencies to conduct campaigns such as pedestrian crosswalk enforcement, seat belt violations, distracted driving as well as DUI roadblocks.

The money primarily pays salaries for the added officers required for those campaigns.
