Churchill County trustees meet Thursday

A regular meeting of the Churchill County Board of School Trustees will be held Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Churchill County Administration Office, Old High School, at 690 S. Maine St.

The following are major agenda items:

Approval of student 14-15 and student 14-16 exemption from receiving Immunizations based on medical reasons (NRS 392.435).

Approval to donate West End Center modular to Logos Christian Academy.

Approval of the Regional Professional Development Program Training — Reporting requirement pursuant to NRS 391.556 for the school year ending 2013-2014.

Approval of Churchill County High School track and field team fundraiser.

For discussion only: First reading on the following revisions to policy.

Policy 4140 – District-wide employee banned and illicit substance testing for a drug free workplace; Policy 3310 — fixed assets inventory.

Policy 3240 (was Regulation 3240) — Acceptance of gifts; Policy 3530 — Investment policy; New Policy 4809 — Health Insurance Incentive Waiver Program; New Policy 2115 — Required residency for superintendent, directors and principals.


New business

For discussion and possible action: Select a method of contracting for the construction of the CCHS auxiliary gymnasium between the traditional design-bid-build approach and the construction manager at risk method.

For presentation and discussion: Lisa Bliss, testing coordinator, will report on test scores/assessments.

For discussion and possible action: Request for purchase of pole vaulting equipment to be paid for out of the Building and Sites Fund.

For discussion and possible action: Action to ratify the 2014-2015 school year tentative agreement between the Churchill County School District and the Nevada Classified School Employee Association, including fiscal impact data.

For discussion and possible action: Bid opening and possible action to accept bid for the sale of the CCHS construction house located at 462 Discovery Drive.

For discuss and possible action: Regarding class size reduction.
