Louis L. Costa, Sr., 88, of Carson City, passed away on April 3rd, 2015 from Leukemia. Louis was born to George and Alicia Costa on December 31st, 1926 in Benicia, Calif. Louie was a 1944 graduate of Vallejo High School, Vallejo, Calif. He was a former parts manager for Broadway Toyota in Oakland, Calif., and Toyota of Vallejo. Louis was a member of the Carson City Raiders Booster Club, and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Vallejo Lodge No. 468. Louie was a fantastic father and friend who will be dearly missed. His sense of humor was second to none. He was a very fun-loving person who was full of wit, endless compassion and humor that made people feel very welcome and comfortable while around him. His smile will be in our hearts forever. “Sail on, Old Fart.” Louie is survived by his son, Louis L. (Gwen) Costa, Jr. of Vallejo; daughters Rhonda (Gary) Buckley of Stagecoach, Nev.; Martha Thompson of Vallejo; Kathy (J.R.) Giafrancisco of Chino Valley, Ariz.; Christine Redding, and son Larry Redding of Las Vegas. He is also survived by his sister, Georgia “Tiny” Hardin, Oroville, CA.; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Louie was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo E. Costa in 2007, and son, Glenn “Dusty” Costa on January 23rd, 2015. Services for Louie will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at Walton’s Funeral Home, 1281 N. Roop St., Carson City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vallejo Naval Historical Museum, 734 Marin St., Vallejo, Calif., 94590. Louie’s “Larger than Life” Celebration will be held after the service at the Elk’s Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St., Carson City
