A Spring Fashions and Party benefit event, which features community leaders as the models, is set for April 25 at the Governor’s Mansion Nevada Stateroom.

The benefit, targeting proceeds for the Carson City Democratic Women’s Club Scholarship Fund and club activities, will run from noon until 2 p.m. on that fourth Saturday in April. An auction will be included with Sheriff Ken Furlong designated as auctioneer.

Furlong also is listed as a model, along with Mayor Robert Crowell, Supervisors Karen Abowd and Lori Bagwell, City Manager Nick Marano, Justice Nancy Saitta of the Nevada Supreme Court, District Attorney Jason Woodbury, Stacie Wilke-McCullough of Carson City’s school board. Cindy Trigg of the Douglas County school board, Tammy Westergard, city library business management director, and Dorothy Timian-Palmer of Vidler Water Co.

The models will don spring fashions by chico’s and Bealls. Lunch will be catered by Tahoe Ridge Winery; chocolate martinis or Cosmos will be served at a no host bar.

Tickets are $30, which includes one drink, or tables for 10 may be reserved for $270. The host club seeks reservations by Wednesday, though a representative said they could come in afterward, perhaps until April 22. Contact is by calling 841-3367 or by e-mailing carsoncitydems@sbcglobal.net.
