Western Nevada College baseball, softball to hold ‘Stack the Stands’ weekend

The Western Nevada College baseball and softball teams will hold ‘Stack the Stands’ weekends during their final regular season home series.

WNC’s baseball team will host Eastern Utah for a four-game series Thursday, April 23, Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 at John L. Harvey Field. Thursday’s game will begin at 2 p.m., Friday’s doubleheader will begin at noon and Saturday’s game will begin at noon.

WNC’s softball team will host College of Southern Nevada in its final regular season home series on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at Edmonds Park. Friday’s doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. and Satuday’s doubleheader will begin at noon.

General admission each day for both series is $6. Admission for seniors and youth under 18 is $3. Admission is free for WNC staff and students with valid ID. On Saturday for each series, Little League baseball players and youth softball players will receive free admission.

During each series, admission gets those attending on free raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are $5 each. During the baseball series, the following raffle prizes will be given away:

Two tickets to a Seattle Mariners game ($200 value) plus $250 Alaska Airlines gift certificate to help with travel expenses to the game; $50 gift certificate to Adele’s; ‘King’ Felix Hernandez bobblehead, 2010 Cy Young Award winner; personal guided tour of Jack C. Davis Observatory for eight provided by observatory founder, professor Robert Collier On the final list of raffle items, along with a commemorative coin struck on the original Carson City Mint Coin Press to pay tribute to Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon; Wildcat caps and T-shirts; Athletics Foundation of Western Nevada T-shirts.

$50 gift certificate to Tito’s Mexican Restaurant; $50 gift certificate to Ming’s Chinese Restaurant; two tickets to the San Francisco Giants-Arizona Diamndbacks game on June 12 at AT&T Park; $50 gift certificate to Sausage Factory; $50 gas card; Gold Dust West overnight stay for two in spa suite, dinner for two at Ole Ole, bowling for two; Gold West Casino package: Accommodations for two guests in a two room spa tub suite, breakfast for two at Grille Restaurant, dinner for two at Ole Ole, four free games at the bowling center for two people (two games per person) shoe rental included; Three $10.00 gift certificates to Carson City Confections.

Prizes to be given away during the softball series include:

The softball program has also been selling $10 raffle tickets, which are sold during the softball games, for prizes to be given away during Saturday’s games. The grand prize is a 3-day cruise for two to Ensenada with a $500 Southwest Airlines gift card.

Softball has been selling raffle tickets all season and we are pulling winners for the prizes on May 2. The grand prize is a 3 day cruise for two to Ensenada with a $500 Southwest Airlines gift card, second place is a Apple IPad mini air and third is a go pro, so we have those prizes to give away.
