Jan. 14, 1951 - Apr. 9, 2015

Arthur Louis Pahl Jr. passed away peacefully at his home the morning of April 9, 2015, after enduring several years of multiple health issues. He was born January 14, 1951 in Great Falls, Montana to Arthur and Patricia Pahl. He was the second of four children. Arthur, known as “Artie” to his family and close friends, was a “jack of all trades” and “master of most”! As a youth in Montana, his varied occupations included paper boy, box boy, pizza maker, logger, and firefighter. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Montana for three years and later earned his B.A. in Social Sciences from Chapman College. Eventually, Art joined the Navy, thinking he would be out to sea. Ironically, he was assigned to the Naval Air Station in Fallon, Nevada - right in the middle of the desert! During his time in the Navy, Art met the love of his life, Toni Herness. They were married in Nevada in 1979 and this year celebrated their thirty-sixth wedding anniversary. Art and Toni had three beautiful children: Abigail Lynne, Peter John, and Joseph Patrick. After Art served in the Navy, he spent a few years as a patrolman for the City of Fallon, but spent over twenty years as a parole and probation officer for the State of Nevada. In addition to his work, Art enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching movies, and spending time with his family. Art’s family increased when Abigail married Matt Sherman and later made Art a grandfather to granddaughter Zoe Lynne. Art is survived by his mother, Patricia (Bob) Starkweather, wife, three children, son-in-law, grandchild, siblings Cathy (Dave) Stebbins, Michael Pahl, and Kelley (Megan) Pahl, and many nieces and nephews. Art was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, Christian and civil servant to the community of Fallon. He was always quick to smile, tell a funny story, and help someone in need. You will be deeply missed and always loved. In Art’s own words, “Love you and God bless!” Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home 2949 Austin Highway Fallon, NV. 89406
