Carson City Library will show the film, “Persepolis,” the coming-of-age story of a girl in Iran during the Islamic Revolution, at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Digitorium.

The film, rated PG-13, is based on the graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2007 and a Golden globe for Best Foreign Language Film.

On the following Sunday, Aug. 9, the library will host photographer, writer and speaker Rick Gunn at 2 p.m. Gunn’s presentation, “The Wheels of Peace: A Thousand Miles by Bicycle Through Oman and Iran,” will detail his recent cycling journey.

Gunn launched his newest project, “The Wheels of Peace,” a venture in which he exchanged letters and artwork between the children of America and the children of Iran.

Both events conclude Carson City Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program.
