Helen (Bowen) Banovich, 87, passed away peacefully in Carson City, NV on November 12, 2015. She was born January 7, 1928 in Hartford Connecticut, daughter of the late May (Evans) and Whitman Bowen. She grew up in Plainfield CT, graduated from Plainfield High School in 1946 and worked at National Cash Register in Stanford CT until 1958. In 1958 Helen moved West and made her home in Carson City, Nevada. She worked for the State of Nevada for most of her career. She was active with her church, Order of the Eastern Star and Toastmasters. She loved her many friends and family. One of eight children, Helen leaves sisters Jean Shutsky, Oakdale CT, Pauline Urgell, Manchester CT, Mary LaPalme, New London, CT and brother Tom Bowen, Montville CT. She was predeceased by her baby daughter, brother Robert Bowen, sisters Irene Nicol and Barbara Plassmann. Helen’s funeral mass will be held in January at St. John’s Apostle Catholic Church Plainfield CT and will be laid to rest with her family in St. John’s Cemetery.
