The Nevada Indian Commission has scheduled a Tribal Legislative Forum for Jan. 15 at the Stewart complex in south Carson City.

Sherry Rupert, executive director of the commission, said the purpose is to learn more about the legislature and the legislative process so those attending can be effective advocates for tribal issues.

Former Assembly Speaker John Oceguera, ex-state Senator and Assemblyman Ernie Adler and former Assemblywoman Lucy Flores have all agreed to participate in the forum.

Rupert said the 8 a.m. forum will be held in Building 1 at the Stewart complex. She said it will end in time for guests to attend the governor’s State of the State address which begins at 5 p.m.
