RENO — The U.S. Bowling Congress has finalized a deal that will keep a series of national tournaments in Reno over the next 11 years.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the Bowling Congress approved revisions Monday to its long-term contract with the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority that raises the per-bowler fee paid by the RSCVA from $20 to $30 for events beginning next year.

The four-month-long tournaments bring thousands of bowlers and millions of dollars to the area.

Under the agreement, the National Bowling Stadium in Reno also will host the Open Championship in 2020, 2023 and 2026. The tourneys will be held in Las Vegas in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2024.
