A Texas man who became separated when following another driver to Sparks was found dead on Wednesday in Churchill County, reports Sheriff Ben Trotter.

Trotter said Mario Munoz, 50, of El Paso was discovered in a ditch less than one mile from where his vehicle was found. He said the sheriff’s office was able to identify Munoz.

According to Trotter, the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a semi-truck parked in a residential area on Monday. He said the vehicle had been parked for a day before it was reported.

“He was not in the vehicle when we were called and we searched the area for him without success,” Trotter said.

Trotter also said the El Paso Police Dept., had reported Munoz missing.

Cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy, Trotter said.
