Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested after going wrong way down Highway 50

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 5:17 p.m., a 59-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense drugs after deputies responded to reports of a possibly intoxicated driver near Fairview Drive and California Street. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 8:41 p.m., Mark MacArthur, 50, of Dayton, and Mickey Woomer, 50, a transient, were arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to a narcotics complaint near the 600 block of Roop Street. At the same incident, a 42-year-old Carson City woman, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and a 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of violation of bail conditions. Bail for MacArthur and Woomer were set at $3,500, bail for the 42-year-old was set at $1,000 and no bail was set for the 44-year-old.

At 11:42 p.m., a 20-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court and a 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana after deputies responded to reports of individuals smoking marijuana by a vehicle near the Koontz Street water tower. Bail for the woman was set at $2,750 and bail for the man was set at $1,250

SATURDAY

At 12:18 a.m., Jeffery Cassels, 37, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony fugitive from justice after deputies responded to reports of a possibly intoxicated subject trying to flag down motorists near Fall and William streets. No bail was set.

At 3 a.m., a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery near the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 1:30 p.m., a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of bail conditions after deputies went to arrested the man from a domestic battery the night before. Bail was set at $7,000.

At 8:05 p.m., a 26-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery near the 3400 block of Highway 50. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 10:29 p.m., a 32-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense, maintaining single lane and basic speed after deputies responded to reports of a possibly intoxicated driver near Highway 580 and Highway 50. Bail was set at $1,075.

SUNDAY

At 3:42 a.m., Thomas Higgins, 52, of Sun Valley, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell, DUI- first offense drugs and reckless driving after deputies responded to reports of an individual driving the wrong way down Highway 50. Bail was set at $14,000.

At 3:28 p.m., a 20-year-old Carson City woman and a 28-year-old Gardnerville man were arrested on suspicion of petit larceny after deputies responded to reports of an individual taking items from the Market Street Walmart. Bail was set at $250 each.

At 6:57 p.m., a 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect/endangerment and failure to appear after deputies were dispatched to the 3400 block of Airport Road to assist the fire department with an uncooperative female. Bail was set at $3,325.

At 9:44 p.m., Matthew Speight, 28, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of two counts of fugitive from justice after deputies responded to a welfare check near the 1400 block of North Carson Street. Bail was set at $4,989.34.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
