The Northern Nevada Pond Club is hosting its annual pond tour on Saturday, July 11.

Each year, select members of the club open their yards to visitors so they can enjoy the beauty and serenity of koi swimming among water lilies and lotuses.

“For these pond owners, caring for their fish, water plants, and the surrounding landscape are labors of love,” said Bradley Harris, a club member. “They pour hours of work into creating a peaceful place they can pass a few quiet moments every day. Once a year, the public gets a chance to peak into our members’ backyards and see these hidden sanctuaries.”

Ponds in the Carson City area will be shown between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Douglas County’s ponds are on display from noon to 4 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Greenhouse Garden Center in Carson City, Plant It Nursery in Gardnerville, Bridger Mountain Boutique at the Carson Mall, and Valley Garden Center in Gardnerville.
