Flash flood warning issued for Douglas, Lyon counties until 7

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for northeastern Douglas County and Lyon County until 7 p.m. tonight.

At 3:55 p.m. radar indicated a thunderstorm producing heavy rain was headed toward the Bison fire area. The rainfall will result in debris flows that could result in flash flooding.

The area included is the eastern slopes of the Pine Nut Mountains in Smith Valley and the western slope of the Pine Nut Mountains in Douglas County.

Rainfall up to 1-2 inches is possible.
