Roll of honor. The following is the roll of honor for the Orphan’s Home School for April 1900. (They had their own school on the grounds until 1911. The school was converted into the old gym — still standing at the original location. Children were later sent to public schools.) Sarah Stadler, who volunteers for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, was one of 2,000 young people worldwide to be presented the Millennium Dreamer award. She won a trip to Disney World in Florida to accept her award.

Sue Ballew is the daughter of Bill Dolan, who wrote this column for the Nevada Appeal from 1947 until his death in 2006.
