Texan satirical band visiting Piper’s Opera House Sunday

A satirical band from Austin, Texas, that spoofs on politics, religions, popular culture and other topics is visiting Virginia City Sunday at Piper’s Opera House.

The Austin Lounge Lizards, a five-time winner at the Austin Music Awards, is putting on a Mother’s Day show at 7:30 p.m.

The band, whose music was featured in Michael Moore’s documentary “Sicko,” features Hank Card on rhythm guitar; Darcie Deaville on fiddle and mandolin; Conrad Deisler on guitar and mandolin and Bruce Jones on bass.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15 before 3 p.m. Saturday and $20 each at the door.
