Fallon receives more than an inch of rain

The season’s first powerful storm coming from the Pacific Ocean slowly crossed central California and Nevada, dumping both rain and snow.

Fallon received 1.12 inches of rain during a 24-hour period that ended early Tuesday morning. From that time to press time, Fallon accumulated a trace of rain.

Th National Weather Service said there’s a 30 percent chance of snow Wednesday morning and possibly a half inch of snow by the afternoon.

Lows in the Lahontan Valley will did onto the 20s through the weekend with daily highs hovering near the mid-40s. Sunny skies are predicted for the weekend.
