Kenneth “Ken” Jochim, 67, of Reno, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at his home. Ken was born April 6, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, to Peggy and Earl Jochim. His family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, when Ken was 6 months old. He graduated from Western High School in Las Vegas and attended Southern Nevada University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. In 1984, Ken and his family moved to Carson City, Nevada, where he worked as the Sales Manager and then General Manager for a local car dealership. He took great pride in teaching and mentoring those around him, both personally and professionally. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, gardening, and photography. He was well loved by many for his great sense of humor and quick wit. Most of all, he was a true family man enjoying hosting holidays, playing card games, and spending time with his loved ones. Ken is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pam Parker Jochim, son, Brian Jochim and wife Emily, daughter Jennifer Krueger and husband Adam; three grandchildren Audrey and Zachary Jochim and Grant Krueger, his sisters Judy Sisneros of Rocklin, California, and Earlene Burris (Ron) of Durango, Colorado, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Frank. Memorial donations may be made to Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows or Nevada Humane Society.
