The Dayton Valley Branch Library is hosting a wine and cheese event whose featured speaker is Brian Crane, creator of the comic strip “Pickles,” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Crane is a resident of Sparks. His presentation will focus on his profession and how he developed his characters for the comic strip.
Several of Crane’s books will be available for purchase and signing at the event. Local students in the Dayton area created comic strips in honor of Crane’s visit. Students’ comic strips will be displayed in the library’s community room. Admission is $3 at the door, and all proceeds benefit the Dayton Valley Library. The admission also entitles the purchaser to one glass of wine, beer or water. Students can attend for free.
