The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the Tip a Cop fundraiser to raise money for the Special Olympics.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday for lunch and 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday for dinner at the Carson Street Applebee’s.
The mission of the Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellecual disabilities. It is to help give them a continuing opportunity to develop physical fitness.
The Sheriff’s Office is encouraged to dine and donate to show support for local athletes.
