Volunteers are sought to learn how to teach English as a second language on a one-to-one basis. United Latino Community, 1711 N. Roop St., is hosting a free tutor training workshop from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Representatives of United Latino Community say they have a long list of adults in Carson City and surrounding areas who are waiting to learn to speak, read, and write in English. Instructional materials and training are provided at no charge. Neither teaching experience nor foreign language skills are necessary, but a commitment of one-and-a-half-to-two hours per week is expected. To reserve a seat at the training, call 775-671-7455.
