The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and the nonprofit GreenACTnv are partnering to bring a program about water policy and management at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Minden’s CVIC Hall.

The event includes a screening of “Damnation,” an award winning film about the change in national attitude toward big dams and the protection and restoration of wild river systems. Following the movie, Dan Beard, author of “Deadbeat Dams,” will talk about his experience in water and discuss his views on the future. His book will be available for purchase.

Beard is also appearing at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at Schat’s Bakery in Carson City to present about water resources. He will also present Climate Change, Bathtub Rings and Low-Flow Toilets: New Realities for Western Water at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center.

The event is free, but donations will be collected for GreenACTnv. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, call Steve Lewis at 775-782-9960.
