United States Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service program continues

There are several free meal sites across Carson City for kids and teens to utilize through the The United States Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service program.

Meal sites throughout the state will offer meals daily for kids for free with no enrollment, and these programs provide up to 627,000 meals at up to 300 sites across Nevada.

Nearly 4,000 students in Carson City are eligible for free and reduced lunch, making up more than 51 percent of the student population.

Parents and kids can also find a meal site near them by texting “FOOD” to 877-877 or calling 1-877-842-6273.

Carson City sites:

Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada, 1870 Russell Way, through Aug. 12. Monday through Friday 8-9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Bridge Church, 901 N. Stewart St., through Aug. 19. Monday through Friday 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Terrace Park, 1327 La Loma Drive, through Aug. 19. Monday through Friday 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Carson Colony Gym, 2900 S. Curry St., through Aug. 19. Monday through Friday 8-9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Stewart Community, 465 Clear Creek Road, through Aug. 19. Monday through Friday 8-9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
