David “Wavey” Cardinal, 4th generation Nevadan and Carson City native, passed away on August 15, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
David was born in Reno, NV to William Cardinal and Nancy (Shedd) Cardinal.
David was raised in Carson City, graduating from Carson High School in 1974. He spent his working career in construction, first working with his dad, Bill, and later operating his own contracting business – Cardinal Construction.
Wavey, as his friends referred to him, was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish whenever the opportunity arose. He never turned down an invitation to fish Topaz or Lake Tahoe, nomatter the weather. “He was an old soul and had a giving heart,” remembers his wife of 33 years.
David is survived by his wife, Rhonda, Carson City; son Carson, Carson City; sister Marie (Larry) Werner; brother Paul (Cindy) Cardinal and many nieces and nephews.
A private burial will take place at Garden Cemetery, Gardnerville, NVAugust 20, 2016
A celebration of life will be held at the Timbers Saloon, Carson City, NVAugust 27, 2016, 1:00 – 3:00
