Currently we’re in a study of the book of Romans. Chapter 8 closes with the thought, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

We’re not immune from trouble, but the Lord says, “I will be with those in the trouble.” No matter what the trouble might be, it can’t separate us from him if we’re truly in a relationship with him.

As a matter of fact, the verses go on to teach us we’re more than conquerors in all things. Another way of saying that is we’re super-victors in the midst of them. Not by our own genius or strength, but through God in Christ.

Every circumstance is preparation for the next circumstance. Ours is to choose how we face it. Attitude determines outcome. Going through tribulation or anguish, or even famine, these things can’t separate us from the everlasting love of God.

That is why it’s so important for us to be persuaded, not just positive thinking as the world would teach, but persuaded neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
