December 24, 1934 – August 25, 2016



We are deeply saddened by the passing of our Father, Uncle, Friend and Neighbor after a courageous battle against cancer on August 25, 2016.


Michael Staffne was born December 24, 1934 in Grafton, North Dakota. He remained in Grafton throughout his childhood graduating from Grafton High School in 1952.


Upon graduation, Michael enlisted in the Air Force and served his country as a flight engineer seeing combat in Korea.


Following his military service, Michael worked in the construction industry throughout his civilian career, retiring as the owner of Construction Services & Management Company in Carson City, Nevada.


Michael was loved by many who were captured by his engaging smile and quick wit. He was a true gentleman who always had a sparkle in his eye. His passion for travel and flying were key factors in his younger years, and

Michael developed many friendships throughout those travels.


He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Mitch.


Michael is survived by two sons, Mark Staffne of Reno and Maury Staffne of North Dakota, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.


A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stewart Street Inn, 323 No. Stewart Street, Carson City, NV 89502 on Friday, September, 2nd at 11:30 AM.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VA Voluntary Service, 975 Kirman Ave., Attn: 05/Vol, Reno, NV 89502
