The following cases were heard in the Tenth Judicial District Court before Judge David Gamble.

Jacob Birchim pleaded guilty to a count of neglect or endangerment of a child, not causing substantial bodily or mental harm. According to court documents, while he was intoxicated. Birchim passed out behind the wheel with his son asleep in the parked vehicle. Sentencing has been scheduled for February after a probation evaluation has been conducted.

Bruce Hyatt was sentenced to 48 months in prison with the potential for parole, for trying to sell meth. He was granted 34 days credit for time served.

Lana Vay’s sentencing was continued for a week while additional information is provided from Parole and Probation.

Richard Davis was given a suspended sentence of 48 months in prison for attempt to commit burglary and placed on probation. Deputy District Attorney Bryant Hendrickson argued his continuing history made Davis a danger to the community since probation had not been working. Gamble said Davis would also have to complete any programs the drug or mental health courts assigned and it “had to be the last time” he came before the court.

Shasta Kelley was sentenced to 364 days in prison, suspended and placed on probation for one count of possession of a falsified or altered prescription and one count of conspiracy to possess a falsified or altered prescription. According to court documents, Kelley changed the refill date on a prescription painkiller in an attempt to get it refilled sooner than intended.

Sentencing of Melissa Banovich was continued for six months due to issues with her health.

Sentencing of Anthony Shaw was given a one-week continuance while the defense and state wait for information to be delivered.

Robert Walker pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a controlled substance. He will be sentenced in February.
