A band of light snow showers has developed early Friday morning over Eastern Sierra County, the Greater Reno/Sparks Metro area, and along and just north of Interstate 80 from Patrick to Lovelock. Snow totals will range from a dusting up to a half inch from this band and could impact the morning commute. Allow extra time for your drive this morning and be prepared for icy conditions.


Here’s the weekend weather forecast:

Friday:

Scattered rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.


Friday night:

Isolated snow showers before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 14. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.


Saturday:

Sunny, with a high near 33. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.


Saturday Night:

Mostly clear, with a low around 11. East wind around 5 mph becoming north in the evening.


Sunday:

Sunny, with a high near 32. North wind around 5 mph.


Sunday Night:

Mostly clear, with a low around 12.
