The Nevada Day store is joining forces with the Carson City Visitors Bureau, moving into the bureau’s 716 N. Carson St. location.

“I’m excited about this partnership,” said Ken Hamilton, executive director of Nevada Day, Inc. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for us.”

A Holiday Extravaganza and Open House, providing drinks and hors d’oeuvres, will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

“It’s an opportunity for the community to see the new retail component as a result of our collaboration with Nevada Day,” said Joel Dunn, executive director of the Carson City Visitors Bureau. “It’s also a chance to promote the partnership.”

Nevada Day will take over the store portion of the bureau.

“We will be expanding the line of products for Carson City, Nevada and Nevada Day,” Hamilton said. “The new location will be perfect because more than 60,000 came through the front door of the Carson City Visitors Bureau in 2015. We can expose more people to Nevada Day.”

The partnership also will work well for the visitors bureau.

“It allows the visitors bureau to focus on marketing the community without having to worry about retail sales,” Dunn said. “It’s a perfect fit for both organizations.”
