Nevada Artists Association seeks art for annual Winter Art Show at Carson City Brewery Arts Center

The Nevada Artists Association is calling all local and regional artists to enter its annual judged Winter Art Show.

Oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel paintings, along with photography, sculpture, glass, pottery and pen and ink will be judged in 10 categories.

Awards include: $100 to Best of Show; $50 to Peoples Choice; $50 to first place in each category; and ribbons to second, third and honorable mentions.

The entry date is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 13 in the NAA gallery at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St.

Paintings and other media are limited to three pieces. Photographs are limited to two; a third piece in another media my be entered. Work must have been completed in the past two years.

Entry costs $10 for the first piece and $50 for each additional piece for members; and $20 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece for nonmembers.

All paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped and wired for hanging. Frames, which must not exceed 48 inches, and mats must be in good condition and clean. The show committee may refuse art it deems inappropriate or not properly presented.

The show opens Feb. 15 and runs through march 26. A reception for the artists is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 20 at the gallery.
