At its last meeting on Feb. 11, the Churchill County School Board took action on the following items:

Recognized the Churchill County High School archery team for winning state and members of the Churchill County Middle School’s academic team and local spelling bee contestants.

Added the Jump Start program with the Honors School name.

Approved six employees for buyouts. Eleven were eligible to apply for the early-retirement incentive.

Approved personnel action.

Heard Business Services updates on workers’ compensation, student and scholarship funds.

Approved four $500 scholarships, two for males students and two for female students.

Took no action on the Plummer Building because no bids were submitted.

Approved contracts with Kimi Melendy, director of Educational Services, and Will Jensen director of Special Services.

Extended contract of Parsons for construction management services.
