Two women arrested in Carson City on charges of meth trafficking

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrested two women on suspicion of drug trafficking following a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.

At 3:50 p.m., the Special Enforcement Team initiated a traffic stop at the 1800 block of East Long Street for a vehicle with suspended registration. After a narcotics K9 alerted, deputies found nearly 30 grams of methamphetamine along with various drug packaging, scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Two women, Gabriella Fountas, 20, and Kaitlin Wutch, 25, were both arrested on suspicion of trafficking level 3, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Fountas was also charged with no driver’s license, suspended registration and no insurance. Bail for both was set at $250,000.
