The vehicle of a missing Douglas County woman was found in the area of Inspiration Point overlooking Emerald Bay, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Carolyn Batchelor from Zephyr Cove has been missing since Feb. 15.
California Highway Patrol located the missing vehicle. Eldorado County Sheriff’s Office, Eldorado County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue are searching the area where the vehicle was located.
However, the recent snow fall and steep terrain are making the search a slow process. Search dogs have been deployed.
The family of Batchelor has been notified of the progress of the case.
