Tom Zachry, a retired Dayton schoolteacher and cowboy singer and poet, will share songs, poems and stories of old-time Dayton characters at Gold Hill Hotel’s next Thursday night presentation at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 14.
Zachry taught at the Dayton Elementary School for about 30 years. The title of his show, “Tom’s Fairly Western,” comes from a comment by former Dayton Constable Rocky Adamson, who, when asked if Zachry was a cowboy, replied, “Tom’s fairly Western.”
Dinner is from 4-8 p.m. in the Gold Hill Hotel’s Crown Point Restaurant. The presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Room.
